From the white beach to a historic landmark makes Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park of Miami Dade It features the the Cape Florida Lighthouse, the oldest structure in South Florida and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 . It was to be built in 1825 and the only lighthouse attacked by the Indians. The U.S. Army base was built here to protect the land and sea from the Indian attackers. The park is also recognized as a site within the U.S. National Park Service’s National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is one of the “Top 10 Beaches in America” by Dr. Stephen Leatherman. Pearly white sand, calm sea – a picturesque of paradise at Miami. A perfect get-away especially under the sumnmer heat. The parks has facilities offering guests a variety of things to do. Free guided tours of the Cape Florida Lighthouse take place at 10:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. on Thursdays thru Mondays. 109 steps will take you to the light house watch room and enjoy the view of beach, Miami and Biscayne Bay from the top. Bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and hydro-bikes are to be rented for more excitement. Youth cams at the No Name Harbor is also offered for overnight camoing. $8.00 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle.
$4.00 Single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle.
$2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.
Picnic Pavilion Fees:
The park has 18 picnic pavilions that may be reserved up to one day in advance by paying the required fee at the park entrance station. All visitors attending a picnic or party are still required to pay the park entry fee. The rental fees are as follows:
$100.00 plus tax per day: 15 pavilions with six picnic tables that accommodate 40 people.
$150.00 plus tax per day: three large pavilions with 10 tables that accommodate 80 people.
$15.00 per day: Electricity is available at the large shelters.
$50.00 cleaning fee that may be assessed if the shelter and immediate vicinity is not cleaned prior to the group leaving. The group is responsible for leaving the pavilion and grounds in the same condition as it was when received.
